La Scuola Media del Pio X da parecchi anni è entrata a far parte delle scuole riconosciute dall’UNESCO e ogni anno la collaborazione con questo ente mondiale prevede progetti incentrati su temi di ecologia, sostenibilità e ambiente. Quest’anno il progetto UNESCO, interdisciplinare e che coinvolge le classi prime medie, è incentrato sul tema “Le piante e l’Orto Botanico del Pio X”. I ragazzi hanno svolto in classe attività come: osservare e studiare le piante, fotografarle e catalogarle realizzando anche un erbario.
L’Orto Botanico al PIO X
Uno dei progetti della Fondazione è infatti quello di realizzare un orto botanico, diviso in aree tematiche, che possa servire per la didattica a partire dalla Scuola dell’Infanzia fino alle Scuole Superiori. Tra le attività che i ragazzi svolgono per il progetto c’è infatti il piantare le piante con attenzione all’esposizione al sole e alla posizione
L’Arte in Natura: La Mostra
Per l’occasione, le prime medie hanno realizzato i disegni di tutte le piante presenti nell’orto botanico del Pio x ispirandosi a illustrazioni scientifiche e usando matite colorate o acquerelli. Le opere più riuscite sono state raccolte, allestite ed ora sono qui esposte affinché tutti voi possiate avvicinarvi al mondo della botanica attraverso i lavori dei nostri ragazzi!
This year the UNESCO Project is about the botanical garden we are creating at school.
The central garden of the building has a fountain that soon will host aquatic plants and four flower beds that are being arranged with mainly “officinalis” plants and some trees donated to the project.
Connected to this, the students of first middle school learned how to construct and preserve a herbarium, and also in November they taught kids of fifth elementary how to do it. They had fun and learned about plants in an unconventional way.
For Christmas the Head of the project Francesca Turchetto with the help of Carlota Vigna, Francesca Rigato , Angela Dussin and me Elisabeth Valeriani, made natural products: (Soap: coffee flavor, olive oil and nettle flavor) lip balm, decongestant balm and candles. Candles with soya wax, natural cotton and dried flowers and plants that the team gathered in the fields of Villorba and further during Autumn. They were sold at the Christmas Market and the profit donated to the Niem and Maigaro projects.
Finally the first graders with Miss Sofia Taboga and Miss Tatiana Amadio draw and colored the schemes of all the plants in the Botanical Garden which are exposed in Sala Rossa at the moment.
Such a fun project for the Kids and for the teachers!!
