Kandinsky ‘concentric gearts’ in Art Clil

Year 5 study Kandinsky and create concentric hearts inspired by Kandinskys work ‘concentric circles’.

Kandinsky was the pioneer of abstract art, an art movement the year 5 have studied in their lessons discovering work by arta such as Jackson Pollock. We have worked on understanding that abstract art is an expression of ourselves, emotions and feelings on paper, we connect colours to those emotions to make ‘opera d’arte’. The children noticed how with the same hearts and same objectives we created beautiful pieces of art that were all different. In proper Kandinsky style the children painted their works of art listening to music as inspiration.
